CUSTOMER COMMENT OF THE WEEK

1472

As we continue on with our series of customer comments…

Alex Quici from Corpus Christi, Texas in the 78412.

“Dude, you guys have like the most easy to use online ordering!!”

Alex, I know. It’s something we pride ourselves on. Anyone can have a website, in fact everyone does, but intuitive navigation, quick page loads, and great design take a team of people. We only employ the most talented.

This version of the site went live back November of 2007. We are currently working on updates to make BoundlessNY.com even better and easier for you to shop online with us.

KELLEN DENGLER AND GEO MOYA

Words by Aaron Hansen

Kellen Dengler links up with Geo Moya on a tour around Queens for the NY based brand After Midnight.

Video turned out slick, like always. Also check out the video he put together for Bushmills while out in Ireland with Jonathan Mannion and friends. Lots and lots of Whiskey is never a bad thing.

Our next Boundless Radio with DJ Clark Kent video should be hitting the internets tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Legendary musicians know whenever they need new clothes, that Boundless is their one stop shop. Ques the Midnight Marauder VoiceAli Shaheed Muhammad is no different. The veteran musician, best known from his work with A Tribe Called Quest stopped by Boundless today before heading to the US Open.

Its always great to have people that we look up to, who are responsible for music we have on rotation daily, stopping by and supporting us. It’s Boundless NY all day.

IN STORE NOW IS PRE 2K

1469

Words by Aaron Hansen

Another new DVD is now available in store at Boundless. Along with Dan Wolfe’s Eastern Exposure 3, Howie Glover’s Pre 2K is another great addition to your collection. I’ll let Quarter Snacks review this, since, well that is what they do. Plus they saw it live after Maloof in July, and pretty much nailed it, read the review the below…

Howard Glover’s Pre-2k is a time capsule in the same vein as R.B. Umali’s Revisited series and the San Francisco Greatest Misses compilation, in that it accumulates footage that was left out of video parts and montages throughout the nineties.

Just before the internet carved out a channel for funneling unused footage to the world so companies could keep keep kids happy and the Slap Message Boards in sweaty, intellectually-stimulating debates regarding outfits and posture.

That’s not to say that Pre-2k is some extended B-grade footage reel, in fact, one of the overall highlights of the video altogether is that it manages to unearth many tricks we had simply heard about or seen photos of over the years, but never actually knew where the footage wound up….

Definitely my favorite part…

Brian Anderson’s kickflip back tail bigspin on the Flushing extension from flat is another heard-of-but-never-seen standout entry as well. Read The Rest of the review here.

THE HYPE BR & TEDDY KING

1466

Words by Aaron Hansen

Last week our Brazilian Distributor and all around solid dude, Lucas Penido came by Boundless in Brooklyn to see our Spring/Summer 2011 Line. If you don’t know, Lucas runs The Hype BR the most comprehensive website for our culture in Brazil.

The result of this 4 hour meeting was a bro-down over Jorge Ben, a plan for the Boundless Brand to take over Brazil and an interview with Teddy over on The Hype BR.

If you can’t read Portuguese, step your Rosetta Stone game up, or check out the Teddy King’s interview translated by Google on HypeBR.

RHYTHM DEVILS | NYC

Photos by Max Stavis

Last Saturday Sticky Stampede and crew along with photographer Max Stavis, caught The Rhythm Devils at Terry Town Music Hall.

A three hour show in Terry Town highlighted their unique hybrid sound. A mix of Grateful Dead Songs along with their own music performed with a Garage Rock and Roll vibe.

If anyone has heard the Rhythm Devils in the past, then you gotta catch them during this run, its a completely different sound and a must see.

The Rhythm Devils began as the duo of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann (seen below) and his percussionist partner Mickey Hart (seen above).

Together with their supporting cast, they will take music beyond the horizon to a universe where rhythm is in constant flux and sound has infinite potential.

LARGE UP | COLLIE BUDDZ

1463

Words by Aaron Hansen

Our good friend DJ Gravy posted a piece on his blog Large UP a few weeks back. It gives you a behind the scenes look at the Collie Buddz show we sponsored back in February at Santos Party House.

When Bermudan reggae crossover artist Collin Harper aka Collie Buddz, came to New York to perform at Rice and Peas, we knew we had to get something exclusive with him…

We took Collie around Chinatown for some gritty, authentically downtown backdrops and took some shots at Santos Party House, where he had just sound-checked for the big show.

455

Gravy sent us over some exclusive pictures of Collie repping for the Boundless Stampede. If you like that sweater he’s wearing, you are in luck, because we have some King Stampede Striped V Neck Sweaters still in stock.

Make sure if you’re in NY on Friday Nights to check out Gravy’s party in the basement at Santos. Its always a good time.

Also on the hush hush, we have a Mixtape Project in the works with DJ Gravy and Boundless NY’s own Teddy King slated for a Fall Release. Keep your eyes and ears locked to BoundlessNY.com for more info on that.

BOUNDLESS RADIO | DJ CLARK KENT PART 4

Words By Aaron Hansen

Part 4 is here and its looking like you might see 2 more videos after this one. The content is so good. After watching this its clear why the first record he ever produced went Gold. I know this is your secret jam – Troop – Spread My Wings.

Here is the Boundless breakdown of how DJ Clark Kent became Super Producer DJ Clark Kent. Remember, it’s all mathematics.

Herbie ‘Love Bug’ Azor + Dana Dane + Marley Marl + Paul C + Patrick Adams = Producer DJ Clark Kent

Basically its like having the Original Dream Team teach you how to play basketball. Insane.

Enjoy and make sure you watch Parts 1, 2 and 3.

And don’t forget to Download Boundless Radio x Nah Right Present… DJ Clark Kent and Teddy King for Boundless Radio
