VIBES FOR DAYS...
Saturday Night November 28th, I had a chance to sit in the booth at 99.5FM WBAI NYC and watch some of NY’s best DJs throw down.
DJ Emskee, of the Underground Rail Road, Hosted, DJed and Produced the 10 Year Anniversary Rare Radio Show Special.
Finishing a bottle of Jamie in-between the 6 packs of BluePoint – along with the dance party that ensued, made for an ill night in the studio at WBAI. Carrot Cake and Pretzels for days…. oh excuse me is that your seat?
The Press Release is below.
It started waaaaay back in 1999 on a bi-monthly basis, and in recent times as an every now and then event. But nonetheless it is legendary and committed to never forgetting the foundation days of NYC dance music/radio/club culture.
The Rare Radio Show crew presented it’s 33rd edition on Saturday night, November 28th, 2009 on the airwaves on WBAI 99.5fm, with a 10 year anniversary 8 and 1/2 hour commercial free party on the radio!
The show specifically pays homage to the music of iconic NYC venues such as the Loft, Better Days, Save the Robots, The Gallery, The Paradise Garage, and the list goes on.
Classic and obscure dance music from the 70’s to the present. No disrespect to other classic dance music programs, but the Rare Radio crew has their finger on the pulse of what the REAL dance music scene of the past was.
Using primarily all original vinyl, these deep crate knowledged heads keep you engaged for the entire show.
Hosted by Dj Emskee, other selectors include the legendary Randy Anderson, the deep crated Monk One, Dj 3D, Q-TIP…
Shows are available from WBAI here or you can stream and download Emskee, Monk One and QTip’s sets from us.

KING STAMPEDE : LODOWN MAG
Our man Sven from Lodown Magazine was in NY over the summer and came by Boundless to check out the Spring/Summer 2010 King Stampede Collection.
He was really feeling our Subliminal Seducers look and chose to feature one of the quality zip ups in LoDown Issue # 68.
The issue also features a black and white photo essay of A GANG OF 4 STAR. Click the link for the video.
Thanks go out to Sven from LODOWN and Annie Lam for setting it up.

VINTAGE DANNY SUPA
Words By: Aaron Hansen
Stephane Yang brought in a few issues of his archived Skateboard Mag collection.
Its right between his archived issues of Cat Fancy and his box full of things Lil Mama may have touched.
I digress, Skateboard Mag – Issue 36 from March 2007 has a great interview with Danny. If you can get your hands on this, I highly suggest it.
